Starcraft 2 Strategy - A Guide To Completing The Mission, "The Outlaws"

The campaign mission "The Outlaws" occurs as the next mission after "Liberation Day", triggering open rebellion against the Dominion by the citizens of Mar Sara. Having familiarized yourself with unit management previously, "The Outlaws" places more focus on introducing players to building construction, resource harvesting and unit training. The main objective for this map is the destruction of the Dominion base which houses the alien artifact Tychus Findlay mentioned before the start of the present mission. The bonus objective for the mission involves rescuing a group of stranded rebels.

The mission starts you off in the south-eastern corner of the map, starting you off with a Command Center, Supply Depot and Barracks already constructed for you together with a handful of marines and SCVs. Immediately queue up your SCVs to harvest minerals and Vespene gas after construction of the Refinery. After you have pumped out a few more SCVs for more efficient harvesting, start production of your marines. They will constitute your main offensive units for this mission.

You also want to build a Tech Lan add-on onto your barracks, which will allow you to recruit medics. A mass of marines supported by a few medics is a potent attacking force with almost limitless hit points when not facing too large a force. As soon as you have accumulated about 10 marines and a few medics, dispatch them north to the mining camp to pick up additional mineral and gas pallets. Around this point, your adjutant will notify you of a rebel base coming under attack. Maneuver your force there and wipe them out before moving them into the green beacon to gain control of any surviving rebels.

You are now ready to conquer your main objective, the Dominion base. En route to the base, you will come under attack by two enemy Hellions, spread your troops apart to avoid taking the full brunt of their flame attack. When you enter the objective area, your first priority is the enemy bunker. Destroy it first to prevent enemy marines from entrenching themselves inside. After that, focus fire and take out any surviving troops before you move on to the enemy structures. The mission is complete once all of them have been destroyed. You will receive 45,000 credits as reward for completion of this mission.
